First Day of School

Well, summer is officially over at the Szymanski House. After a friendly wake up call from Pop, we got ready for the first day of 3rd grade and Pre-K. We had Kate to school by 8:30 am, pictures and all. She loves her teacher and her school.
Alex was disappointed he had to wait until 12:30 for his school to start. But we passed the time playing with David and Gracie (our neighbors) and making cupcakes.
When we finally left for Irving Pre-K, he was all smiles. He knew the drill - Mommy asked him to stop for pictures outside the school, inside the school, in the classroom, with his teacher. I'll spare you all the pictures and just post a few of my favorites.
Oh Yeah! Alex's boo-boo. Yes, he started his first day of public school with a butterfly bandage on his left eye. Just a little run-in with a pretend light saber.
